Tailored lines and a dressed-up look are the focus of H&M’s Conscious Exclusive collection. Every piece in the collection is made from more sustainable materials, including BIONIC, polyester made entirely from plastics recycled from shoreline waste.
Conscious Exclusive is a key part of H&M’s movement towards a more sustainable future. Across H&M’s entire offering, 20% of all pieces are now made from sustainable materials, with the goal each year to increase the share. H&M has set specific targets in every product range, such as 100% of its cotton to be sustainable by 2020. It is all proof of H&M’s commitment to making sustainable, good-quality fashion accessible to as many people as possible.
“The sharpness of the tailoring proves just how much can be achieved with sustainable materials,” says Pernilla Wohlfahrt, H&M’s Head of Design and Creative Director.
My favorite piece from this collection is the ruffle-fronted shirt in 100% organic silk and this suit made out of recycled plastics. The shoes are also from H&M.
Sustainability is a key word in today’s fashion as the new young generation is more and more interested in protecting the environment and recycling, we’re more socially aware about the impact that our actions on the Earth have on our own lives.
